History

Vueling has the OACI code: VLG and the IATA code: VY.

Vueling Airlines is a low cost Spanish airline, based in Barcelona-El Prat. It is the Spanish airline with the most destinations -around 140-, with important connection centers in various airports, apart from Barcelona.
Its subsidiaries include Iberia, British Airways, LEVEL and Aer Lingus. It has the Vueling Club frequent flyer programme and its points are called AVIOS, which it shares with its subsidiary Iberia.

In recent years, Vueling has significantly strengthened its presence at Seville Airport. In 2025, the airline added a new aircraft to its Seville base, expanding its fleet in the region. This reinforcement allowed Vueling to increase flight frequencies on both domestic and international routes, with notable connections to destinations such as Palma de Mallorca, Santiago de Compostela, and London-Gatwick.

Additionally, the airline boosted its routes to the Canary Islands, increasing flight frequencies to Tenerife North, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, and Lanzarote.

These efforts have contributed to the growth of air traffic in Seville, which reached a record 9.1 million passengers in 2024.

Vueling Destinations:

Vueling flies direct from Seville to Asturias, Barcelona, Bilbao, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Ibiza, Lanzarote, Palma de Mallorca, Paris-Charles de Gaulle, Rome-Fiumicino, Santiago de Compostela, Tenerife-North and Valencia. In summer it flies to Brussels and London-Gatwick.
